INTRODUCTION  

SAIM College, under the aegis of the South Asian Institute of Management, has been ranked among the top business schools in the country. It is affiliated with Pokhara University (PU) under the regulation of Pokhara University in 2010 and currently conducts the MBA (Global Business) Program. The MBA (Global Business) provides regular courses in the core functional areas of Finance, Human Resource Management and Marketing, and in this regard is similar to other colleges offering General MBA. At SAIM, students are also exposed to case analyses of global trends and business practices; instrumental in guiding the students in their career and professional success. 

With the increasing trend of globalization and the integration of economic activities of nations around the world, a rapidly developing. South Asia is emerging as one of the important hubs for world trade, investment, technology generation and transfer, which is expected to open up many corresponding opportunities for the region. Therefore, managers and the business community in Nepal can no longer remain placid and complacent. Managers now need to adapt and build up agile skills needed for the rapidly changing business world The MBA (Global Business) Program provides candidates with a wider exposure to the global environment and practices.  

 

MBA Global Business PROGRAM STRUCTURE 

The MBA Global Business consists of a total of 69 credit hours. This is slightly more than the General MBA program of PU. The foundational and analytical courses are of 19 credit hours. The core and functional areas of management consist of 20 credit hours, with integrative courses comprising of 12 credit hours, specialization and elective courses are 8 and 4 credit hours respectively. The Internship and Graduate Research Project with 3 credit hours each.  

Additional courses like Business Development in South East Asia, and Cross-Cultural Communication and Negotiation, that is, the Integrative Course that accentuates the student’s exposer to global business are also part of the MBA (Global Business).

    ADMISSION
  • Pre-required Education : Candidates having a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with 15 years of formal education (12 years of schooling and 3 years of graduation) in any discipline with a minimum of 45% of the aggregate marks or 2.0 cumulative grade point average (CGPA) at the undergraduate level can apply for admission to the MBA (Global Business). Admission to the program is based on academic records, PUMAT scores and a personal interview of the candidates.
